My name is Katie Dano and I am a 18-year old Mountain View High School graduate. I am now currently enrolled at Foothill College. I have been a competitive figure skater for over 12 years. My most recent accomplishments were passing my senior ladies figure skating test and competing at the 2009 Philippine Nationals for the first time as a senior lady. In 2008, I was the Philippine National Junior Ladies Figure Skating Champion. My ultimate goal is to go to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. I have been training very hard and though the Olympics is still 4 years away, there are other goals I’d like to achieve before I get there. Competing at the World Championships and the Grand Prix Final events would be an amazing opportunity for me and I really want it bad. In order to achieve these goals, much training is needed on and off ice. Lessons and ice time are quite expensive and it would help my family and I a lot if I had sponsors who could help pay for some of these expenses. At the present time, the cost of my skating is almost $45,000 a year, which is about average for a skater at senior level.
